Maintenance Assistant
Maintenance Assistant Job Description:
The Maintenance Assistant will be responsible for all grounds maintenance, assist in maintaining the buildings, buildings systems, and equipment in safe and efficient operating condition.
I. Qualifications / Experience:
Experience in mechanical, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, heating or air conditioning an asset. Willing to learn all aspects of Chalet’s maintenance systems and building up-keep.
- Ability to work with and among the residents living in the units and demonstrate respect and courtesy to the residents, other employees and administration.
- Must be able to work independently when required and to follow directions.
- Must be able to work as part of a team.
- Must have demonstrated skill, efficiency and effectiveness in performing assigned duties.
- Good physical and mental health to meet job demands.
- Fluent in both official languages (oral and written) an asset.
- Good attendance record.
- Must possess a valid Manitoba Drivers license.

II. Supervised by:
Maintenance Supervisor
III. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
-Maintain all exterior machinery, equipment.
-Carry out major and/or minor exterior building renovations including carpentry, and electrical work as directed.
-Assist in the preparation of the yearly and five-year capital budgets.
-Make pickups and deliveries for the facility as required.
-Assist with receiving as required.
-Works with and in all departments in the facility.
-Flexible hours.
-Available to be on call weekday evenings and every other weekend and holidays.
IV. Compensation:
Starting Wage (based on experience) 6 months probation
$14.00 - $15.00 / hr 2 weeks vacation
$29,000 – 31,200 / annum benefits package
